Chicago and NASCAR went all out for this race, circus and all. The concert venue was enormous. This was the Black Crows singing.

Day one started out well - a bit cloudy but very pleasant considering it was July 1.

Day 2 didn't start well. Chicago took on record levels of rain. The streets were flooded.

Before we knew it, the rain stopped and the race began, slowly until things started to dry out.

With Chicago as the backdrop, the drivers began to get their legs and raised their speed each lap.

The crowds were so large, they opened the raceway for us to exit. Any other day, this was Jackson street.
